We never thought today would come. Phoebe has had a very hard time remaining healthy enough to attend school like other children. But we are blessed with the programs that are available in our district, along with the care and sincerity of the staff at the school to help give her the best and most normal school experience possible.
The school is working really closely with us to make sure that all of the staff knows what to keep an eye out for with Phoebe and how to handle the flare ups when they happen. She is starting on an abbreviated schedule, going for 4 hours instead of the whole 6 1/2 hours, five days a week. With the restrictions her doctors have, on top of not knowing how her system will handle the more involved long days in a school with 500 other children, the shorter school day is our best way to tread carefully while letting her system and abilities be our guide.
