With her appetite being predominantly poor she is not taking in as much food as she should be. With little intake comes little output. Phoebe uses the bathroom about once a week for "number 2". It doesn't hurt her but with the size, shape and consistency of it that is a shock to us. She has also on occasion had a few drops of blood due to the size and that area of your body being highly vascular.
We have tried Miralax once day, but that has not been helping so her immunologist referred us to a gastroenterologist.
She was a very nice doctor and Phoebe took to her right away. The doctor spent a lot of time going over Phoebe's extensive medical history, taking notes and asking questions. After her physical examination she had a few options for us to try to help make going a little easier and more frequent for Phoebe.
The doctor ordered labs as well to check for Celiac disease and to also check her thyroid. Phoebe has a sensitivities to hot and cold, which gives her a window of comfortable temperatures for her. Depending on what these results show we will be getting a 13th specialist, an endocrinologist.
Since we have to be back at the hospital on Friday for Phoebe's yearly cardiologist appointment to check her heart the doctor said we could to the blood work then.
There was one part of this appointment that made Phoebe's day. The hospital staff gave her a dolphin pillow pet! We had just watched Dolphin Tale 2 the night before as a family and Phoebe is certain this pillow pet is Hope.
Now it's off to the store to get fiber gummies and probiotic supplements.
