She is receiving pain meds every six hours and a rinse to coat the ulcers every 4-5 hours. While they are not taking away her pain completely, they are helping just enough to allow her to sleep and rest comfortably, which is a first since Friday.
The plan is to keep her hydrated and as comfortable as possible to allow the ulcers to heal enough that she can tolerate oral intake of liquids and foods.
So it is time for me to settle in for night two of this hospitalization. She has a few doctors scheduled to come in to see her in the morning, so we should know more then.
But for now, I’ll take her sleeping through the night without waking
up in pain.
