The girls woke up this morning full of excitement that tomorrow is Christmas Day! They couldn't wait to come downstairs to see where our elf Merry was and what he was doing. The past few days he has been surprising us with his funny little surprises, like making a snowman out of toilet paper rolls, making a snow angel out of flower, resting in a hammock by the tree and eating all of my peanut M&M's! This morning was no different. We found him perched on our bookcase with crayons and a coloring book and he had a colored Santa and his reindeer flying through the air!
We spent the rest of the day making and decorating cookies while Christmas carols filled the air! From gingerbread men to sugar cookies of all different shapes, we filled all 3 of our holiday cookie jars! Phoebe even decorated a few she said that had to be for Santa!
After our traditional 7 fish Christmas Eve dinner, the girls all put on their footie pajama's so we could settle down on the couch for another family tradition, watching "A Muppet Christmas Carol" before bed. Kaylee and Natalie look forward to watching this movie every year, and this year they kept pointing out their favorite parts to Phoebe and Naomi!
After the movie, we hung our stockings by the chimney with care, and placed Santa's milk and cookies on the fire place along with carrots for the reindeer. The girls even made sure to move our decorations out of the way so Santa doesn't trip when he makes his way from the fireplace to the tree.
The girls are now nestled snug in their beds, dreaming about what Santa is going to leave them when he stops at our house tonight! They each have that one special gift they hope he leaves them!
