~Write to your congressmen, governor and assemblymen about the continuously growing problem of insurance companies' practice of picking and choosing treatments and tests that they will and will not cover.
Many adults and children are going without necessary testing and treatments because insurance denies the claims and many people don't know or have the time, energy or resources to fight back.

~Be an advocate for patients with rare diseases! Visit Rare Disease Legislative Advocates to learn how to take action and be the voice legislators and congressman NEED to hear!
~Wear that you Care! Visit Global Genes to support the genes ribbon, gain access to rare tool kits, subscribe to Rare Daily and to learn more ways to get involved!
~Get involved in the identification, treatment and cure for rare diseases! Visit The National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD). Nord provides advocacy, education and other services to improve the lives of all people affected by rare diseases.

~volunteer time at local organizations, such as a food bank or nursing home
~donate toys to a children’s hospital
~help a neighbor in need, such as grocery shopping for them or stopping in for a visit
~get involved in town events
